Shaun Casey is Associate Professor of Christian Ethics at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. He also directs the National Capital Semester for Seminarians, a Washington based program in theology and public policy that is open to any graduate theological student in North America. He earned a B.A. degree from Abilene Christian University. He is a graduate of Harvard Divinity School with a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctorate of Theology in Religion and Society. He also earned a Master of Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University with a concentration in International Security
He was born in Kennett, MO and grew up in Paducah, KY. He has served as minister in the Churches of Christ for congregations in Mississippi, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Currently he is a member of the Fairfax Church of Christ in Fairfax, VA.
His research interests include ethics and international affairs, the public implications of religious belief, and the intersection of religion and politics. He has written on the ethics of the war in Iraq as well the role of religion in American presidential politics. He is currently writing a book on the role of religion in the 1960 presidential election. He serves as a consultant to the Center for Strategic and International Studies project on Religion and Post Conflict Reconstruction.
