Follow the above link to an article describing an incident in which John McCain claimed that US troops in Iraq had been reduced to pre-surge levels. When told that he was wrong, that troops had been drawn down, but not to pre-serge levels, McCain of course had a choice to apologize for the error, and point out that Americans are really tired of this “gotcha”...

The subject of the email was, “Fw: What a black columnist has to say about Obama.” The intriguing aspect of that subject line was that the columnist himself tried to down play race while informing his readers about the “most liberal” Senator [Obama] in the Senate.
