Hoping For a Change of Heart From Hillary Print E-mail

I’m still hoping for a change of heart from Senator Clinton.

If Senator Clinton believes that Senator Obama decided to run for president to spite her, then maybe she would be justified in being angry at him. If Senator Obama resorted to dirty tactics instead of negative flyers like we saw in Ohio, then Senator Clinton might be justified in treating him the way she has. Senator Obama’s supporters (in my mind) would not hold negative tactics like flyers against Senator Clinton. If Senator Obama tried to demonize Senator Clinton the way she has done to Senator Obama, then maybe she would be justified in her tactics against him. It’s the distortions and fear tactics used by her campaign that have driven the outrage seen in many of Barack’s supporters.

The fact is Barack did little if anything to add to Senator Clinton’s negatives. If you had the chance to log on to Barack’s website during the last nine months, you would rarely see negative stories about Senator Clinton, and when they show up, it’s in response to her own negative remarks. Now Senator Clinton is going on a Republican propaganda machine in FOX News and bringing back the Rev. Wright topic. It seems Senator Clinton’s target is no longer the presidency, but  damaging the one who stood in her way of the presidency. What does she expect from those of us who truly believe in Senator Obama as a leader? How does the Democratic Party expect Senator Obama’s ardent supporters to respond? Please stop this Senator Clinton. There is still time to put this behind us. There were probably many of us who had little animosity toward you when this campaign started; personally, my animosity was toward Bill Clinton. As a Christian, someone who honors their marriage commitment is more impressive to me, than a two term President.

Stan,

It has been about two months since you made your post.  Have you seen evidence of a change of heart from Mrs. Clinton?

I haven't seen a change of heart from Senator Clinton.  There are brief moments during the campaign that she seems to be thinking about changing her tactics, but it turns out she is only taking a breather. I know the mentality she is exhibiting;it 's something like when an attack dog sets its sights on an object.

What hasn't been seen from many Democratic activist's perspectives, is the courage from Democratic leaders to stand on principal and take political risks. If too many supers came out too soon for Barack, and it caused a backlash from Hillary supporters,  and we lost an election, than so be it.  This lack of courage from Democratic leaders has me ashamed to be a Democrat. Remember that line from " White Men Can't Jump"? Rosi Perez said " sometimes when you win you lose, and sometimes when you lose you win...winning and losing are all part of one organic globular from which one derives what one needs." I first noticed this as a child coming back from the ROCKY movie my dad had to inform me he lost. It didn't feel like he lost. He actually won in spirit. Apollo won technically, but he really lost because he felt like he failed himself. If it's respect and admiration that Senator Clinton is looking for, she may find a ton more in a graceful exit than she ever could in a dirty victory.
